Choosing A Project And Setting Objectives
Choosing a project marks the first step in beginning towards a goal. The results of a team depend on the choice of project. Therefore, the priorities of the organization must be discussed in a team meeting. In a meeting the team leader can clearly communicate the management's priorities and expectations. Based on the subject matter of the meeting the project is selected.
The purpose of a meeting is better established with the presence of measurable parameters. Such parameters are illustrated on an activities board.
Meetings serve a dual purpose by acknowledging all opinions and admitting them in the conclusion. By doing so, the individuals become aligned with the objectives discussed in the meeting. Working towards the shared goals with the contribution of all individuals becomes an easier task with inclusive meetings.
Upon selection of a project, targets regarding the project are set and conveyed to the team. These targets address— What the objectives are, When the project must be completed and How the numerical targets will be achieved. This gives a clear and measurable idea of the project and can be used to measure if the project was successful.
